Asheville Gallery of Art opens the new year with fresh exhibitions

For Western North Carolina painter Lindsay Keeling, creativity and structure go hand in hand. Before devoting herself to painting full-time, Keeling spent more than a decade in the corporate world, specializing in IT risk, project management, and process improvement. That background brings quiet order to her work, as she builds her paintings in soft, intentional layers. This January, her luminous abstractions will anchor Serenity in Color, a group show at Asheville Gallery of Art. Also featuring Robin Dail, Cindy Wheeler, and Susan Viemeister, the exhibition interprets tranquility through color and light, inviting viewers to linger in moments of quiet reflection. February brings the gallery’s annual introduction of new member artists, offering a first look at fresh creative voices joining the collective. Then, come March, Our Mountain Home will honor the landscapes that define our region, pairing Annie Gustely’s intimate oil studies with Bronwen McCormack’s sweeping watercolors of mist-laced ridges. The next month ushers in Promises of April, featuring Carol Fetty’s mixed-media works.
