Lexington Glassworks releases vernal vessel

Spring has officially sprung, and the hills are alive with budding flora. From trout lilies to dwarf crested irises, each bloom feels like nature’s invitation to drink in the vernal splendor. Riffing on this convenient metaphor, Lexington Glassworks has unveiled its Iris Seasonal Tumbler. According to a press release, the vessel’s deep lavender hue “celebrates the first signs of spring when wildflowers begin to bloom along the banks of the rivers, streams, and forests of the Blue Ridge Mountains.” Lexington describes the glass as both “elegant and sophisticated.” It is also the first item released with the hotshop’s commemorative 10th-anniversary mark. “Since opening our doors in 2015, we have dedicated ourselves to the craft of glassmaking for nearly a decade,” Lexington shares. “We are excited to commemorate this milestone with a unique symbol of our journey: a special 10th-anniversary stamp that will be featured on a selection of our products, starting with our seasonal tumbler.” Three percent of proceeds from tumbler sales will benefit RiverLink, an organization focused on the environmental and economic vitality of the French Broad River and its surrounding watershed. The tumbler will be available until May 13. See lexingtonglassworks.com.
