A Sleek Oasis

Aesthetically speaking, there’s nothing extra to sponge up in this master bathroom, part of a Hendersonville home renovation designed by Kristen Finkelstein (Ellis Designs) with cutting-edge features provided by Hajoca of Hendersonville. The aerodynamic sleekness is upheld everywhere in the space, even in the decorative laddered slats framing the towel rack.

In the case of the tub, a Kohler Underscore, simple, clean lines disguise a fully loaded system.
“The Vibracoustic hydrotherapy created by hidden Bluetooth enable speakers that turn the whole tub into a sound machine,” explains Greg Griffin of Hajoca, who also delivers the stats on the Hahnsgrohe shower: “It has a recessed, 28-x-28-inch ‘ShowerHeaven’ shower head in the ceiling with three different rain functions, thermostatically controlled by Hansgrohe’s inline sleek shower module designed by Phillipe Stark.”

“The original master bathroom was a product of the ’80s,” reveals Kristen. “Hunter green and brass fixtures dominated this chopped-up space. After completely gutting the room and pinching a few feet out of the master-bedroom closet to relocate the water closet, a much better plan came to light.”

The homeowners “fell in love with the vanity,” continues Kristen. “Coupled with the wife’s love for blues and earth tones, we had our inspiration. The granite on the tub surround was the perfect combination of all of her favorite colors, and we used a deep illuminated toe space that created a floating effect for the tub. We also used uplighting over the windows.
“All in all, we wanted a functional yet dramatic space with clean lines that reflected her personal style.”

And for both homeowners, “we wanted to feel like we were in a spa,” says the matriarch, who waxes fluently on the space’s luxe amenities, praising the “sexy, long Laufen vanity.” She enthuses: “We love our modern, chic master bathroom. From the stimulating deluge effect of the rain shower to the relaxing soaks in the tub, this bathroom very much suits our desires and is a decadent respite from the cares of our day.”
