Philip DeAngelo Studio hosts fundraiser for pups in need

Contemporary Americana artist Philip DeAngelo really likes dogs, and so do the artists who share his River Arts District gallery. This December, they’re channeling that affection into their annual Holiday Ornament Fundraiser for the Shelter Dog Transport Alliance, a nonprofit that helps rescue animals reach safe, loving homes. Artists will create one-of-a-kind ornaments using materials such as copper, felt, and paper. Proceeds from every sale support the organization’s lifesaving transports, giving local shelter dogs a second chance. Visitors can stop by all month to shop the collection or join the artists on Saturday, Dec. 13, when the gallery will highlight the cause. In the new year, the studio keeps the creativity going with a March guest appearance by Greg Vineyard, whose whimsical “Collagimals Workshop” invites visitors to craft playful animal collages from recycled materials. The following month, the gallery plans to host Slurp, Snack, Sit, & Stroll — a pet-friendly open house that pairs local beverages and light bites with art, conversation, and treats for four-legged guests.
