One area invites get togethers; the other is a space to get away. With WNC’s real-estate scene in a decided uptick, it’s a good time to be reminded that kitchens and baths remain the most important rooms in the house — and that’s true whether you’re selling, buying, building, or renovating. Sure, “outdoor rooms” have been getting lots of love; however, we’re headed into the colder months, and that means conversations around the kitchen hearth — the return of the fireplace to its traditional niche is definitely a thing — and long soaks in the tub (bonus points if the bath has touches of stone or vintage wood, among today’s most fashionable lavatorial looks). Carolina Home + Garden’s annual Asheville Kitchen & Bath show happens October 15 and 16 at the WNC Agricultural Center’s Davis Event Center. Dozens of regional exhibitors will show the finest choices in design, cabinetry, hardware, finishes, appliances, and accessories offering inspiration for homeowners who just want an updated sink or tub — or who want to immerse themselves in an exciting room makeover. Asheville Kitchen & Bath Show, October 15 and 16. 10am-5pm Saturday, 10am-4pm Sunday. WNC Ag Center, Fletcher, NC. See ashevillekitchenbath.com for details.
